NEW: Sales Tax Exemption on Corrective EyeGlasses and Contact Lenses in Ohio

Happy young woman trying new glasses at optician store

No more tax for eyeglasses and contact lenses in the State of Ohio.

Yes, you read it correctly. Starting on starting July 1, 2019 consumers no longer have to pay sales tax on Corrective eyeglasses and contact lenses. The Ohio Optometric Association says that sales tax can be an economic barrier to obtaining necessary products like glasses. Taxpayers in Ohio are expected to save an estimated $23 million to $30 million a year.

We are happy to be able to pass those savings on to our patients.
